Restaurant Review: Small Cakes
Restaurant Review: Olean's Cafe
We ventured over to the south side of town just across the street from the main FAMU entrance sign to discover this awesome hole in the wall. This place is quite the experience. There's no parking and you can expect to find a pretty decent line wrapped around the interior of the dining area, but that's for a reason. It's the kind of place where you'll find family photos on the walls and most placed orders are followed by "You want butter on that?" I've heard wonderful things about the Olean's omelet and the Obama breakfast but there wasn't a chance that I was leaving without trying their fried chicken. Chicken 'n waffles it is! Fresh made to order waffles paired with perfectly crispy breaded salty wings made the perfect breakfast.
Pinterest Trials: Marshmallow Butterscotch Blondies
I rarely set foot in the kitchen, but I thought perhaps I could make some tasty treats for my coworkers and friends for Easter. I found this recipe and decided it didn't look too intimidating and even a little foolproof so off I went to the grocery store.
http://cookiesandcups.com/marshmallow-blondies/
The only ingredients I didn't already have were the butterscotch and white chocolate chips and marshmallows.
¼ cup butter
½ cup butterscotch chips
¾ cup flour
½ tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup mini marshmallows
¾ cup white chocolate chips
The only modification I made to the recipe was topping the bars with marshmallows and broiling them really quickly, but it added a whole nother tacky texture to the bars. Plus, you most likely will have extra marshmallows so you might as well top 'em off! Make sure when you're broiling them that you watch them very carefully and yank them out just as they are starting to turn or else they'll catch fire!
I hope you enjoy this easy recipe as much as I did!

Music Venue - Manley Manor
Manley Manor is a well kept secret in Tallahassee. A music enthusiast, Mike Manley gives the opportunity for artists who are on tour and coming through Tallahassee to perform a low key and fun night in an intimate setting. Performance goers bring blankets and folded chairs, wine and their favorite beer to cozy up to a small stage in the back of Mike's home. The venue is located on a small dirt road off of Miccosukee Road on the Northeast side of Tallahassee.

St. George Island - Rock by the Sea
If you are ever thinking you may want to give St. George Island a try, I found the perfect weekend for you. Rock by the Sea is one of the most entertaining weekends in SGI and definitely the most fun! As best described on their website, "Rock by the Sea, Inc is dedicated to organizing music festivals and events where we raise money to assist deserving charities who provide direct services to those in need. Every Rock by the Sea event is an intimate showcase of music designed to bring people together for the love of music and the common goal of helping these charities."
Rental homes are available for the weekend and are highly encouraged. The days are filled with golf tournaments, 5K races, live music, and good ole fashion beach fun. The nights are a different story, but the best part of the weekend. The music starts around 5ish and doesn't stop till past midnight which traditionally consists of a encore of musicians as they play a set all together on stage and jam out. Artists spanning multiple genres countrywide come through this small paradise to perform for a good cause. This past event hosted musicians from Texas, Washington, DC, Tennessee and many more. The artists are engaging and very personable as they mingle with the attendees who also travel from all over the country for these events. I highly encourage checking out Rock by the Sea
